East Valley Intergroup of Alcoholics Anonymous
PI/CPC (Public Information and Cooperation with the Professional Community) Committee. Meets at 7 pm on first Monday of the month – in person at the EVI Office (1855 E Southern Ave. #103, Mesa 85204) – and online via Zoom (meeting ID 984 4383 7353 and passcode 061035). The committee's purpose is to provide accurate information about Alcoholics Anonymous to a wide variety of individuals and groups, to help carry the AA message to the alcoholic who still suffers. Our contacts with the general public and professionals have the potential to carry the AA message to many sick alcoholics – THIS IS OUR 12th STEP MULTIPLIED! The GENERAL PUBLIC is reached by giving AA talks and distributing literature at businesses, community groups and schools; by offering AA public service announcements to print, radio, television and social media; and by serving as a resource to local media while emphasizing AA traditions of anonymity, singleness of purpose and non-affiliation. The PROFESSIONAL COMMUNITY is reached by making AA presentations and distributing literature to those who have contact with alcoholics through their profession (such as counselors, education, faith leaders, healthcare, legal, and social workers); we find effective ways of cooperating with professionals, and future professionals, without affiliating.
For more detailed information please visit aamesaaz.org/picpc Literature Committee The Literature Committee is available to share information and answer questions about conference-approved literature and its many uses in recovery, sponsorship, and group settings. In addition to providing guidance, the committee also manages the sale of AA-approved books, pamphlets, and Grapevine materials, ensuring that members and groups have access to trusted resources. They set up literature displays at conferences, workshops, and other AA events, helping members discover new materials that can strengthen their sobriety and deepen their understanding of the AA program. Contact the office at 480-834-9033 for more information. Special Events Committee The Special Events Committee organizes activities that bring AA members and groups together in the spirit of fellowship, unity, and recovery. These events not only create opportunities for fun and connection, but also strengthen ties within the local AA community. By planning gatherings such as picnics, holiday parties, workshops, and other celebrations, the committee helps members share experience, support one another, and deepen their commitment to sobriety while enjoying the gift of community. Meets at 6:30pm, 1st Friday monthly, 2222 S Price Rd. Tempe, Church of the Epiphany Unity Committee The Outreach Committee provides a vital connection between East Valley Intergroup and local AA groups in the area. Volunteers visit and communicate with groups to share information about the services Intergroup offers—such as the 24-hour hotline, literature and token sales, meeting directories, and upcoming events. They also extend a warm invitation for groups to participate in Intergroup activities, service opportunities, and decision-making, helping to ensure that every group has a voice and remains connected to the wider fellowship. Meets at 6:15pm, 3rd Friday monthly, 2222 S Price Rd. Tempe, Church of the Epiphany East Valley Intergroup Central Office Volunteer Opportunities Volunteers play a vital role by answering the 24-hour hotline, setting up old-fashioned 12 Step calls, and assisting with light clerical tasks to keep the Intergroup office running smoothly in support of the fellowship. Phone Committee The East Valley Intergroup Phone Committee is made up of dedicated AA members who volunteer their time to answer calls around the clock—24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Whether it’s the middle of the night or the middle of the day, someone is always available on the other end of the line. These volunteers provide information about Alcoholics Anonymous, share experience, strength, and hope, and help connect callers with meetings and resources. Their commitment ensures that anyone reaching out for help, guidance, or simply more information about AA never has to face that moment alone. Phone training is available on the 3rd Friday of every month via Zoom.
